Shed #18

Shed #18, inaugurated in march 2019, hosts various leading and innovation and research oriented companies, like Ask Industries, Bema/Elettric80, Grasselli, Studio Alfa, Webranking.
The Shed is 174 meters long and 40 meters wide; an essential structure of Reggiane’s landscape, it is a reminder of their commercial and operational apex.
A complete restoration of the former Boiler Department building was carried out, including processing residues, mural writings, imperfections. The integral conservation contributes to bring out the iconic role of Reggiane workshops as historic-cultural asset and witness to city’s heritage and history.
Inside the outer shell, new volumes have been added, mainly used as offices and laboratories, created by juxtaposing wooden blocks, which combine with terraces, overhangs and bridges to draw a landscape of physical relations that leads residents to a necessary collaboration, thus embodying the philosophy of the Innovation Park and of knowledge economy.

Shed #17

The architectural and functional redevelopment of Shed #17 is in progress. It started in August 2019 as part of the wider project of recovery and enhancement of the historic Reggiane area, that will benefit from new functions with high environmental quality and high attractiveness for companies and research.
The new refurbished space will host professional orders’ offices, higher education institutions and other actors interested in research and development programs, with the aim to foster synergy with research activities taking place in the Technopole and with the Loris Malaguzzi International Center.
The shed is characterized by a variety of roofing materials and by various engineering solutions (like steel and reinforced concrete), historical and archaeological backbones maintained through the recovery and consolidation of pre-existing structures, thus preserving the memory and the historical identity of the places. Its interior will be set up with “internal buildings”, connected by spaces conceived as an extension of the public space, in connection with the system of external areas.

Shed #15 A

Adjacent to the central railway station, parallel to the tracks, recognizable by the large yellow sign “Reggiane”, it hosted until 2008 the last production of Officine Reggiane, the construction of port cranes, that can count as some of the biggest in the world.
The redevelopment is scheduled for 2021. It foresees a relatively “light” intervention, with reclamation, safety and consolidation works. The building will be dedicated to activities for general public, to events and shows.

Shed #15 B\C

The project of Shed # 15 B/C – scheduled for 2021 – is conceived as an expansion of the Innovation Park, given its privileged position: facing west on Shed # 17, the south front facing the railway, in continuity with the large urban front of Shed # 15A, the east front facing the large central corridor and the north front almost merged with Shed # 18.
The external structures and walls will be put in safety conditions, roofing will be completely eliminated leaving the existing metal structures bare. Three new architectural elements will be build in the interior: a multi-storey car park on three levels, and two blocks for laboratories and offices on two levels. Large green gardens will serve as communication elements. The new redeveloped spaces will host new businesses and new functions, in line with the concept of the Reggiane Urban Regeneration Program, combining memory and innovation: the Officine Reggiane Historical Archive, Iren’s business academy, as well as new companies and services to businesses and individuals, research centers in Circular economy and sustainable design.
