Born as the “Boiler Factory” of the Officine Reggiane, Shed 18 is one of the most iconic buildings in the former industrial area: a colossus 174 metres long and 40 metres wide, an imposing structure recognisable by its three naves and studded steel portals.

A testament to the period of maximum production and commercial expansion of the Officine Meccaniche Reggiane, after a major reclamation and regeneration project in 2019, it was returned to the city as the second redeveloped building in the Innovation Park.

Inside, new wooden volumes have been designed to be flexible and bright, and will house offices and laboratories. Terraces, walkways, and bridges redesign a landscape of relationships that fosters collaboration and exchange, embodying the philosophy of the Innovation Park.

A large vintage machine, left at the entrance, visually testifies to the industrial past and becomes an emblem of active memory.

Today, Shed 18 hosts organizations active in research and technological development, creating an ecosystem where diverse skills interact and intermingle, generating innovation and new opportunities.

The project, designed by architect Andrea Oliva on behalf of Stu Reggiane, has been rewarded for its excellence with prestigious awards: the Dedalo Minosse / Ala Assoarchitetti Prize (2022) and the In/Architettura 2023 Prize , received both at regional and national level as part of the Venice Biennale.
