Shed #19
Shed 19 marked the starting point of the Reggiane Innovation Park project. Inaugurated in 2013, it now houses the Technopole of Reggio Emilia, a center for applied research in the agri-food, mechanical, environmental, and energy sectors.
Once the foundry of Officine Meccaniche Reggiane, the space now serves as an incubator for innovative startups and home to research centers. A collaborative ecosystem designed to generate new connections and accelerate the region's growth.
The redevelopment project, designed by architect Andrea Oliva, has received major recognition for its architectural excellence and urban value : it received a Special Mention at the 2013 Domus Restoration and Conservation Award and won the 2014 Innovation and Urban Quality Award, as well as the Fortune Italia Award. In 2023, the Municipality of Reggio Emilia also won the Client Award in the national Architettura Chi e Come competition for the Tecnopolo project.
